Happy Anniversary Merle!

Merle aka Orange Blossom has been with us for a year now! She came to us when she was only a few months old. She was orphaned and found by a family that took care of her and even though they had good intentions, she became imprinted on people, this means she has no instinctive fear of humans and is completely dependent on people for food, protection and care. Much like a pet dog or cat. So, she became an animal ambassador for the seabird station to help educate the public about what we do. Most people dislike opossums but they are misunderstood animals that shouldn’t be feared.
