Benny · Ambassador White Pelican
Benny (formerly known as Penny) is an American White Pelican that came to us all the way from Canada. Benny was raised by a well-meaning family after turning up on their back. After a few months, Benny became too accustomed to humans to migrate and faced a harsh winter ahead. A local wildlife clinic agreed to house him, but he needed a permanent home. After a 13-hour car ride and a 1,300+ mile flight to Miami, Benny joined our ambassador flock, thanks to the efforts of countless compassionate individuals! Check out this article about his rescue.
Benny came to PHSS in December 2023 as an adult making him at least 3 years old. He can usually be found in his enclosure playing in the pool!
