Jefe · Ambassador Brown Pelican
Jefe is a Brown Pelican that came to us with neurologic symptoms due to severe head trauma. After treatment in our hospital, it was determined wouldn’t be able to survive in the wild due to permanent brain damage. He is friendly and has a big personality, however, and enjoys going to schools to teach kids about his species!
Jefe officially came to PHSS in August 1998 as an adult making him at least 24 years old but it’s possible he has been here even longer. He can usually be found in his enclosure with his bestie, Monroe!
