Carolina had a background in Nursing prior to coming to PHSS. She started volunteering with us in 2017 after hearing reports of Pelicans injured by fishing lines. That is when she learned about Wildlife rehabilitation. Although she has been an animal lover throughout her life, her close contact with animals was limited to her domestic pets and ocasional visits to the zoo. She had no knowledge about the concept of rescue, rehabilitation and release of native wildlife and she was immediately drawn to learn more after observing the interesting qualities of each animal she encountered at PHSS. 

She became a Veterinary Assistant and is now our part time supporting staff. She loves baby animals and is specially interested in raptors. She is a proud monthly donor as well.
