David Williams Jr.

David Williams, Jr. is a Scientist by profession and spent 33 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry.  He is a resident of Miami Gardens for over 35 years. David took an early retirement to pursue his passions for Early Learning , Family and the Environment. He takes pride in serving his community.

David received his Bachelor of Science in Health from Florida A & M University; Clinical Training and Certification in Corrective Therapy from the Veterans Hospital in Tuskegee; a Master of Science in Human Resources Development and Administration from Barry University, completed a Preceptorship in Diet and Fitness from Duke University in Columbia, North Carolina; Completed a Preceptorship in Cardiovascular from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, Florida; Completed a Preceptorship in Obesity and Weight Management – Internal Medicine Endocrinology, Longevity Center of South Florida, Weston, Florida.

David has received numerous awards from around the country for his achievements and has been a frequent speaker at conferences and board meetings, He has received two gubernatorial appointments from one Republican and one Democrat.

David has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for: The Florida Department of Children and Families – Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties; Magnet Committee / Miami-Dade County Public Schools; Jessie Trice Community Health; Statewide Committee of Vocational Practitioners and The Alliance for Aging of Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.

David was appointed to the Miami Gardens City Council Seat 5 – Citywide. Councilman Williams, Jr. was subsequently elected and re-elected to two four-year terms, and served for 12 years.  During his City-Wide Council Service he established the city’s  first Fruit based Botanical Garden, the only one of it kind in the country by a municipality; he implemented the city’s Inaugural Science & Engineering Fair for Elementary and Middle School Students for nine years, again the only one of it’s kind in the country by a municipality; established a program to Recognize Women in Law Enforcement; and implemented a Farmer’s Market to promote healthy lifestyles in the community and save lives ; He has Also built many Science Labs ,Butterfly and Reading Gardens in schools and cities around the country.
