To celebrate ICC2024, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station and 1Hotel Miami Beach are partnering for a fun-filled day of kayaking and cleaning up the beautiful Little River. A limited number of kayaks will be available for rent and are first come first serve. Feel free to bring your own kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. We will provide garbage bags, gloves, data collection cards, and a souvenir tote bag with this year’s marine animal theme, penguins!

This year’s Penguin T-Shirts are available for purchase here: www.bonfire.com/miami-icc-2024. Order before August 30 if you want to guarantee your shirt arrives before the cleanup. Important details:

  • Download the Ocean Conservancy’s CleanSwell app to participate in the Citizen Science activity to log, tally and measure the impact of your cleanup.

  • Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.

  • Sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen and recommended.

  • If you have your own reusable working or gardening type gloves, bring them. We will be providing gloves but cannot guarantee they will be in your size.

  • Some volunteers like to use a bucket during a cleanup. Ask your local Chinese, Burger or Bakery/Donut shop if they get food service items in 5-gallon buckets that they would like to donate for use during your cleanup!

  • Please bring water in a reusable container. Let’s reduce waste and refuse single-use disposable plastic water bottles.
