Jill Szymanski · Volunteer coordinatr
Jill Szymanski graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) and obtained a master of science in nursing (MSN) from the University of Maryland and a master of business administration (MBA) from Nova Southeastern University. After a 12-year stint as a Navy Nurse Corps Officer, she resigned her commission at the rank of lieutenant commander and worked in healthcare consulting until she relocated to Miami where she worked at Baptist Health South Florida in executive level positions for almost 20 years.
Jill has been a volunteer with Pelican Harbor Seabird Station since 2021 when she retired from healthcare. Her decision to join the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station came from a lifelong love of animals, especially wildlife. She has experience in all aspects of the Station and has acted as the volunteer coordinator since 2024. As a nurse, she loves all things medical and enjoys translating her nursing background to the work of caring for animals.
