After graduating high school in Miami, Melanie moved to Orlando, FL to study at the University of Central Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies and was introduced to wildlife rehabilitation in her last semester of college while interning at a wildlife refuge. After moving back to Miami, she began an internship at Pelican Harbor Seabird Station and was recently hired to join the team as Wildlife Rehabilitator.

Melanie has always had a strong passion for animals and the environment. She hopes to get further into wildlife conservation and continue doing what she loves.
