Michael Montuori · Operations & it mANAGER

Michael Montuori is a managerial professional with a passion for nature, music, and art. He first came to Pelican Harbor as a young child, visiting most weeks for pelican feedings. This sparked a love for animals and nature, which eventually led him back to Pelican Harbor as a volunteer in 2022. After two years of weekly volunteer work and playing fetch with pelicans, Michael joined the team full time as Operations & IT Manager in August of 2024.

As a curious and passionate person, Michael’s experience is diverse, beginning as a young artist with a focus on creature design. Michael attended Design and Architecture Senior High, and graduated from the School for Advanced Studies. Later, Michael became immersed in Miami’s alternative music scene as a DJ, VJ, and performer. There he was recruited to manage and operate 10K Islands, a sophisticated recording studio in Little Haiti where he spent 3 years maintaining the space, assisting on national tours, and hosting artists. Michael’s path through the music industry also included stage managing for III Points music festival from 2015-2018, as well as live audio-visual performances at the festival in 2016, 2017, and 2019 with his band Twelve Tales.

In 2021, Michael took his technical skills into software support, and shortly after landed at Dr. Damas Wellness, operating a wellness facility and holistic retail space with a focus on natural medicine and care for disabled Veterans. Finally, a growing concern for the wellness of local ecosystems and wildlife led Michael back to Pelican Harbor, where he found the joy of caring for animals in need. Today, Michael spends his free time enjoying sci-fi and fantasy, working on creative projects, and enjoying nature.
